Nestled in the heart of Pokolbin, the St Clair Cellar Door is where the story of our wines comes to life. Whether you’re a seasoned wine lover or simply curious, we welcome you to pull up a chair, pour a glass, and stay a while.
We’ve recently tripled the size of our space to make your visit as comfortable as it is memorable. With indoor and outdoor seating, heating and air conditioning year-round, and plenty of parking. Walk-ins are always welcome, and tour groups are warmly catered for.
Our motto of “Bien Comprendre” (good understanding) is the basis of our tasting experience as we want our guests to try terrific single vineyard, boutique, one-of-a-kind wines; to learn about different types of grapes and their origins; the types of oak and how the oak influences wine; the effects of weather and soil types on grapes; plus the harvesting, fermenting and bottling of wine.
We aim for our guests to have a fun, social experience while helping them learn about the intricacies of wine styles and wine making.
Our freshly renovated Wine Cellar has a variety of seating arrangements both indoor and outdoor, indoor and outdoor heating, air-conditioning, plenty of parking, music and of course, Sadie, our Cellar Dog.

Jenny and Hugh are hands-on hosts who love nothing more than sharing the story behind each vintage. From how the Hunter Valley’s unique climate shapes our grapes, to what makes each of our three estates distinct. Come with questions, leave with answers (and a case or two).
